Welcome to the website of the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study, one of the most extensive and successful studies ever conducted in the social sciences.
The Wisconsin Longitudinal Study is part of the Center for Demography of Health and Aging at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The Wisconsin Longitudinal Study has been supported by the university, several government agencies, and by private foundations. Since the early 1990s, the WLS has been supported mainly by the National Institute on Aging, which is part of the National Institutes of Health, and also by the Vilas Estate Trust, the National Science Foundation, and the Spencer Foundation.
